Filling the Holes in the Law of Attraction
Tim Bost
My daughter Amrita is an expert on the Law of Attraction, not just in theory, but in practice. She always seems to attract exactly what she needs or what she's looking for, typically with very little effort at all.
For a year or so now Amrita has been a driver for a commercial delivery service, piloting a truck through shopping areas and residential neighborhoods here in southwest Florida, ringing doorbells and dropping off packages.
This is work that not only provides her with a livelihood; it also gives her many opportunities to manifest something from nothing, or at least so it seems. As she makes her deliveries along her route, she keeps her eyes open for things that she and Eric might be able to use for their house. Earlier this year they bought five acres of land with a real "fixer-upper" house which has given them lots of opportunities for creative homesteading as they've worked to upgrade the structure and clean up the surroundings.
So Amrita has been finding plenty of ways to apply her Law of Attraction skills. "I especially love driving on trash days," she says. "As I go along my route, I get to see what people have thrown away by the side of the road. And since I just happen to have a truck with me, it's pretty easy to take home anything we can use."
That's what happened last week. Amrita spotted what looked like a brand-new interior door lying at the curb in front of a house. "I noticed that there was a car in the driveway," she said, "so I decided I'd better ask the people who lived there about it before I picked it up and tossed it into the back of my truck.
"I rang the doorbell and this woman answered who kind of scowled at me when I asked her if she was really throwing away the door.
"'Yeah, it's trash,' she told me. ‘I don't know what you'd want with it, since it's got a hole in it. But you can have it if you like.'"
Amrita thanked the woman, put the door into the back of her truck, and drove away. "I really didn't see anything at all wrong with it," she explained. "But I figured that we could use it anyway, even if it needed a little fixing up.
"But when I got home and looked at the door more closely, I was amazed. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it at all! I looked it over again, and then it finally dawned on me. The door DID have a hole in it-the hole where the doorknob goes! So right now we're adding a doorknob and getting ready to hang it in the bathroom doorway. It's actually like a brand new door."
I laughed when I heard Amrita's story, of course, and I marveled, as I always do, at the ease with which she brings good things into her life. But her story got me thinking.
"It's got a hole in it." That's what many people are feeling right now as they confront economic numbers that keep piling losses on top of losses. That's what they're thinking as they look at vanishing paychecks and dwindling bank accounts. And that's what many seem to be thinking when they consider their personal futures, too.
Thanks to the Law of Attraction, limited thinking always brings limited results. But this is more than just a case of a glass being half-full instead of half-empty. It's precisely the holes that we are seeing that present the biggest opportunities for creativity, for innovation, and for entrepreneurship.
The holes make a difference for us as astro-traders, too-the more we learn to think outside of the box as we approach the markets and to take advantage of the special situations that astrology can help us identify, the more likely we are to prosper during these times of enormous economic flux.
