Ignore The News
November 27, 2009
It's a familiar story.
There's a big move in the market averages, and the mainstream media outlets jump in immediately to provide an explanation.
What they say will vary somewhat, but most of the time it has something to do with News. After all, the media are in the News business, so they have an interest in promoting the importance of the News in moving the markets.
Sometimes their explanation is about economic News or business News. Sometimes it's geopolitical action that supposedly creates a significant turning point for stocks or futures.
But when that happens, here's a tip: ignore the News.
Don't buy into the media's explanations. Instead, do your own research.
Look into the planetary dynamics near the time of the big move in the markets. Study the major and minor aspects, the lunation cycle, and the pattern of eclipses.
Reach your own conclusions. Whether or not you're actively trading the market you've analyzed, and whether or not your conclusions about planetary influences are the "correct" ones, you now have a hypothesis that can be back-tested.
If the back-testing doesn't reveal a reasonably consistent pattern, it's time to start over.
Do some more analysis and come up with a fresh planetary hypothesis. Keep repeating the process until the correlations start to reveal themselves.
Once you discover a planetary explanation that can be substituted for the News stories the media are telling, the real fun begins.
You can find out when the next instance of the planetary phenomenon occurs, and then forecast a fresh market turning point for that new date.
And when you do, you can watch the News around your forecast date. As you listen to the pundits explain the shift in market trend in their own Reality TV ways, you'll know what's really going on, and you'll have the astro-trading advantage, too!
