Keep Watching Eclipses After They Happen

January 15, 2010
Printer-Friendly Format

Keep watching eclipses after the eclipse dates.

Solar eclipses are the most powerful factors in financial astrology, and we often see an impact in the markets right around the date of an eclipse. But eclipses also have a residual impact, so it's important to remember them at future dates as well!

How long? The rule of thumb is that a solar eclipse stays active at least until the date of the next solar eclipse, typically about six months later. In many cases, however, eclipses can continue to have an influence on the markets and on geopolitical affairs years after they have actually taken place.

Look for the strongest residual impact from a solar eclipse when there are transits from other planets to the zodiacal point at which the eclipse occurred. The transiting conjunction is by far the strongest contact, but squares and oppositions are also worth keeping an eye on. In addition, transits to the eclipse antiscion and to other planetary positions in the eclipse horoscope can be triggers for market action.

Pay particular attention to dates when there are clusters of transiting contacts to significant eclipse degrees. These times can bring extra volatility to the trading environment, and they sometimes signal significant shifts in trends as well.

An Eclipse Impact on a Famous Person

The market impact of solar eclipses isn't always direct. Sometimes it's there because the horoscope of a key person or organization gets triggers by an eclipse or an eclipse transit. Thanks to a tip from a fellow astrologer in Australia, I took a look at one example of this kind of eclipse action and created a 7-minute video about the potential impact on the markets.

Kronos and an Important Eclipse

Kronos is not only a powerful force for wealth expansion. It can also work to expand economic situations in some very unpleasant ways, too! The solar eclipse on January 15, 2010 has something in common with another eclipse in the early part of the Twentieth Century, and Kronos was a part of this fascinating picture.

Do You Know When the Solar Eclipse Will Have the Biggest Impact?

It's amazing how much there is to learn about the full impact of solar eclipses, which is why as the editor at FinancialCyclesWeekly.com I prepare an in-depth reports on each eclipse and its influence on market behavior. In the Market Astrologer's Blog, I also comment about lots of phenomena you'll find worthwhile, including solar eclipses.

An Accurate Forecast of a History-Making Market Event

While solar eclipses have a powerful impact, sometimes even just a Full Moon can be important for the markets, too! That was certainly the case on September 15, 2008--the date that marked the nearly complete collapse of the financial system and the start of a massive drop in the stock market. Of course, with the tools of financial astrology it was possible to anticipate this effect before it happened, and that's exactly what I did when I was interviewed on the Commodity Classics show the week before that momentous event, warning viewers that I was looking for "an extremely strong downward move in the markets around the time of the Full Moon" on September 15, adding that my downside price target for the S&P "could be a way station on the path to a much larger move downward" as we headed into the Fall.
