Know Where You're Going
February 26, 2010
In astro-trading, as in any experience in life, you'll get the best results if you know where you're going, or at least where you want to go.
When examining a trader's natal horoscope, I'm always concerned with the interplay of the fifth and eleventh houses in the chart, which I often call the "Risk-Reward Axis" in the horoscope.
Understanding attitudes and approaches to risk-taking is obviously quite important, since trading is always risky activity. Those attitudes and propensities are revealed through fifth-house dynamics.
But it is the eleventh house in the natal horoscope that shows us the capacity for rewards. It's a reminder that you need to have specific goals in mind, whether they are for the outcome of an individual trade or for your long-term creation of personal wealth.
Your goals don't have to be big, but they do need to be specific.
One of our Gold Members at www.FinancialCyclesWeekly.com told me recently that because she's new to astro-trading, her goal is just to add at least $100 to the value of her portfolio each week. So far, she said, she's been successful.
Another Gold Member took one of the "Stocks to Watch" that had been mentioned in the FinancialCyclesWeekly newsletter and decided to write some calls--talk about engaging her Risk-Reward Axis! As with any play in equities options, her money was totally at risk. But the trade worked out in her favor, and within two trading days she had taken enough money out of the market to meet her specific goal, which was to pay her monthly utility bills!
In both cases, the Gold Members knew the outcomes they were looking for. They avoided what Lawrence J. Peter had in mind when he said "If you don't know where you are going, you will probably end up somewhere else."
The goals you set are up to you. Just make sure you set them!
